Growing occupancy continues to be a great challenge for Milwaukee-area hotels, but perhaps an even larger struggle is increasing the key industry measures of revenue per available room and average daily room rate during the Covid-19 pandemic. Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport reported total traffic numbers were down 68.56% year-over-year with 193,711 traveling through the airport in August. Hawaiian Airlines is launching drive-through Covid-19 testing in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with additional labs in the works for other gateway cities on the U.S. Mainland.
